WORLDSymposium Poster Presenter FAQs
- When will abstracts for WORLDSymposium 2021 be published or be made available to the public?
WORLDSymposium does not publish the full-text of the abstracts online; the full-text is available only from Elsevier. Accepted abstracts submitted to WORLDSymposium prior to October 1, 2020 will be published in the February 2021 special “Lysosomes Issue” of Molecular Genetics and Metabolism (MGM). Registered attendees will receive an electronic copy of the program and full-text abstracts via the WORLDSymposium 2021 virtual platform beginning on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 8:00 AM EST, just prior to the opening of WORLDSymposium 2021. The program and abstracts become copyrighted and are only available to non-registrants through Elsevier.
It is the policy of WORLDSymposium to publish all abstracts with the list of authors exactly as the abstract was submitted to WORLDSymposium. The first author of the submitted abstract will be listed as the Platform Speaker (presenting author) on the Preliminary Program, Agenda, and Poster List.
- Do I have to pay for my own registration?
Poster presenters are responsible for all of their own expenses, including registration. Register by January 8, 2021 to take advantage of early registration discounts.
- Is there an ePoster requirement?
Yes. All poster presenters will be REQUIRED to submit an electronic version of their poster for viewing by all WORLDSymposium 2021 attendees. This is specified in the instructions for submitting an abstract to WORLDSymposium, and all poster presenters will receive an email with instructions on how to submit an ePoster. The presentation can either be a PDF poster or an MP4 audio with 5 slides and no longer than 5 minutes in length (you can’t do both).
An email with instructions for uploading the ePoster file will be sent to all poster presenters in December, 2020. The deadline for submission of the MP4 file is January 22, 2021, and the submission for the PDF ePoster is February 1, 2021. Only a PDF file or an MP4 file will be accepted. Poster presenters are only allowed to submit one ePoster file for each poster they are presenting.
ePosters will be available via the official WORLDSymposium virtual platform to all attendees to view during official Exhibit & Poster Hall hours during WORLDSymposium, including a live chat session each day for a selected group of poster presenters. ePosters will be available after the conclusion of WORLDSymposium 2021 until March 15, 2021.
- Is it allowed to put a QR code on the eposter?
Yes, however, with the conference being fully virtual, it is not necessary to include a QR code on your ePoster.
- What are the hours of the poster sessions?
ePosters will be available via the virtual Exhibit and Poster Hall throughout the WORLDSymposium 2021 conference, starting on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 2:30 PM EST, for all registered attendees, for the duration of the conference and until March 15, 2021. In addition, a live chat session will be scheduled for all ePosters, Monday through Friday during the conference for a selected group of presenters. Details regarding which posters will be available for the live chat session on which day will be available in December 2020. Once assigned, all ePoster presenters are strongly encouraged to be available during their assigned live chat session day and time.
- Who do I contact if I have questions regarding my presentation?
Please submit your request to Amber via the contact form.
- Can I get an international letter of invitation?
Yes. Your meeting registration confirmation will include a link to generate a customized letter of invitation, which can be used when applying for a visa.
- What is your data protection policy?
Due to ACCME requirements, and the data protection of all presenters, all communications related to platform and/or ePoster presentations are kept strictly between the platform and/or ePoster presenter and the WORLDSymposium CME Programs team.
Any presentations submitted to WORLDSymposium for CME review are kept strictly confidential, and are not shared beyond the required CME review team. The presentations will not be available to WORLDSymposium attendees until the platform session is first presented, and then will be available “on-demand” on the Virtual website until March 15, 2021, after which time the virtual platform will be shut down.
All submitted ePosters will be available starting on Monday, February 8, 2021, when the ePosters open, currently scheduled for 2:30 PM EST. ePosters will also available on the virtual platform until March 15, 2021.
Submitted abstracts will be available to all registered attendees via the Mobile App at the time WORLDSymposium opens for the Emerging Trends pre-conference symposium on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 10:00 AM EST. Submitted abstracts are available to the general public when Elsevier publishes the February issue of Molecular Genetics and Metabolism. WORLDSymposium staff have no control over the publication date, however, anyone may sign up with Elsevier for publication updates.
Presentations are not available to anyone other than the WORLDSymposium development team until the time the presentation is first “aired” live during the conference, and then the presentations are available “on-demand” to the registered attendees until March 15, 2021.
First authors are required to acknowledge that they are authorizing WORLDSymposium to provide their ePoster and/or presentation to the WORLDSymposium audience. If they choose not to authorize WORLDSymposium to provide their presentation, their presentation will be removed from the agenda and all databases.
